At daycare yesterday they had a little party for a kid in his class who turned one. The mom brought chocolate cupcakes. Yum yum. I think joey liked them. He had never really had chocolate before but he seems to be enjoying himself.

This past weekend Joe and I took our first vacation away from Joey. I have to say that I am proud of how well I handled being away from my baby boy. Joe and I woke up early Saturday morning and headed to Chattanooga to Ruby Falls and Rock City. I just have to say I was rather shocked and confused when we got on the elevator to see the falls and it went down. Who knew there would be falls under the ground?! Well it was all beautiful. Here are some pictures from out trip.

Us underground. When we got to the falls they told us that we were directly under the peak of the mountain. Kind of freaks you out to think about all the weight of the mountain on top of you and only one narrow way out. Not something I suggest to someone who has a problem with tight spaces that's for sure.

At Rock City we could see seven different states. Alabama is to the right of us.
The Chattanooga Aquarium was amazing.

Isn't this thing huge!! I kept replaying the part in Jaws when he broke through the glass. I just didn't get too close. I did pet a shark earlier in the day but he was much, much smaller. I also got to pet a sting ray. Surprisingly he was not slimey at all, more velvety.

I gave Joey a chicken leg in hopes of occupying him while I finished my dinner. Well it worked. I feel sorry for that chicken leg though. He chewed the heck out of it.
For Joe's birthday Joey and I did an art project. We made Daddy an apron to go with is new BBQ grill that he got for his birthday. It was extremely messy and the apron wasn't the only thing with Joey's handprints on it. He got mommy pretty good too.
I think Joey enjoyed the grill better than Joe, well at least he enjoyed the box.
